Love is in the air, and February is sure to be filled with uniquely engaging programs and events at The Leonardo. Whether you are bringing the family or looking for a uniquely romantic date night, there’s something for everyone at The Leonardo!
Lunar New Year
Feb 1, 2025, 12pm – 4pm
$15/person. Pre-register online. Members sign-in for discount.
Join us for this fun-filled cultural event in celebration of 2025, the Year of the Snake. Learn about the science of snakes and see live snakes with The Hogle Zoo and Ogden Nature Center. Practice calligraphy with local Korean and Chinese artists, participate in a tai chi with the Salt Lake Tai Chi club, or build a pagoda in the art studio. Fly our flight simulators and try your hand at the mahjong table. Don’t miss the exciting Lion Dance performed by Bennion Middle School. Pick up a lucky red envelope (hongbao) after finishing our scavenger hunt!
Artist-in-Residence: Samantha DaSilva

Visit the art studio and check out Samantha DaSilva’s reliefs-on-canvas. Her paint-like sculptural work features peaks, valleys, cracks, brilliant and opaque elements. Samantha will be in the art studio Saturday, February 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Stop by and ask about her process and her artistic inspiration.

CRAFT Valentine’s Day: Georges Seurat’s The Eiffel Tower
February 14th, 2025, 7-9pm

Join us for a unique date night experience! February’s CRAFT will include a French-infused evening of music and painting along with a Valentine’s Day exploration of the art of pointillism. Wine, beer, soda and snacks will be available in the Salt Bistro for you to enjoy while you create a step-by-step 8×10 painting inspired by Georges Seurat’s “The Eiffel Tower”.
Family STEM Day – Infinite Shapes

Did you know honeycombs and fish scales are amazing examples of tessellations that occur in nature? Enjoy a game of Tetris and build your own paper tessellations with these fun afternoon activities that celebrate geometry in art and nature.
Little Leos

Stop in to work on a fun activity with our wonderful education staff! This monthly program is best for Little Leos between 2 and 5 years old, accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Homeschool Day
February 20, 2025, 10am-2pm
Reduced admission: $5/person.
Calling all homeschoolers! Please join us for this monthly hands-on field trip day available at a discounted admission rate. Sign up on our website to reserve your spot.
Family STEM Day – Dino Day at the Leo
Saturday, Feb 22, 2025 1pm – 3pm
Included with general admission. Free for members.
Embrace your inner paleontologist! Our museum educators will lead dinosaur-themed discussions and activities for all ages. Guests will have the opportunity to create a custom fossil, participate in arts and crafts, and put their knowledge of dinosaurs to the test.
Sensory Inclusive Afternoon
February 26, 2025, 4pm-6pm
Included with General Admission, Free for Members.
Join us 4-7pm for a sensory friendly Leonardo experience. Lights will be dimmed and sounds will be turned down. There will also be sensory friendly activities in the Art Studio.
Leo Libations – Sweetheart Wines
February 27th 2025, 6:30-8pm
$70/person. Members sign-in for discount.

Celebrate the month of love with three sweetheart wines that evoke romance with their intensity of flavor! Join Jim Santangelo, Sommelier with the Wine Academy of Utah, as you enjoy a fine dining experience of arugula salad with pomegranate seeds and strawberry vinaigrette followed by red peppers stuffed with mushroom risotto. For dessert, our luxurious red velvet cheesecake bars will melt your heart.
This is a 21+ event. ID is required to attend and registration is nonrefundable for those denied entry. Registration will close February 25th, 2025.
