BLACK WINGS: AMERICAN DREAMS OF FLIGHT

Black Wings: American Dreams of Flight, takes a closer look at African Americans’ remarkable triumph and tragedy in aerospace history. Developed by noted scholar and Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum curator Von Hardesty, the exhibition traces the history of African Americans in flight, from the thrilling barnstormers of the early 1920s to the equally daring astronauts of the 21st  century. This stirring collection of historical and contemporary photographs, first-hand interviews, and extraordinary stories offers a compelling overview of a truly inspiring saga.
