- Art Through Experience immersive exhibits to end December 31, 2023
- Tens of thousands of patrons, students, and families have experienced these immersive art experiences since opening in October 2021
- The Leonardo will be announcing a brand new immersive exhibition in early 2024
SALT LAKE CITY (December 22, 2023)—The Leonardo announces the closure of its popular Art Through Experience immersive exhibits on December 31, 2023. These innovative exhibits, including, Van Gogh 360, From Monet to Kandinsky, The Great Impressionists, and more, have attracted tens of thousands of patrons, students, and families since opening in October 2021.
“We are so proud to have been home to these beautiful, magical, and educational shows for the last two years,” said Alexandra Hesse, CEO of The Leonardo. “We encourage everyone to visit for one last chance to experience them. This would be a wonderful way to spend part of your holiday vacation, and the shows are appropriate for all ages.”
The Leonardo would like to thank its dedicated partners, Utah-based MagicSpace Entertainment and Universal Exhibition Group, for helping to make these exhibits a success.
Mark Zurevinsky, global producer for Universal Exhibition Group echoed The Leonardo’s praise: “We could not find better partners than The Leonardo and MagicSpace, in the city known as the Crossroads of the West, to launch our one-of-a-kind immersive art series in the United States.”
“When we opened The Idea Space in 2021 with our first Art Through Experience immersive experience, we never imagined the shows would have the longevity they’ve enjoyed in this amazing venue,” says Steve Boulay, COO of MagicSpace Entertainment. “This is a tribute to the hard work of the staff of the Leonardo and the support of the Utah State Legislature. With their support, we were pleased to be able to periodically offer these exhibitions at no cost to high school students.”
“In fact, we would be remiss not to publicly thank the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity for helping to support the Art Through Experience series,” added Hesse. “Their Utah Economic Assistance Grant not only helped us to purchase critical hardware for the exhibits, it also helped ensure the gallery space was accessible to students all across the state.”
“We are sad to see these wonderful exhibits go,” continued Hesse. “But we are so excited to share what we have in store for 2024. Our new immersive exhibit will be announced soon.”
Tickets are available to all Art Through Experience shows through December 31 and can be purchased at the door or online at TheLeonardo.org.
