Rocky Mountain Power Helps Deliver Aerospace Engineering to Utah

This past November, The Leonardo officially launched its new and innovative Engineer In Residence program in an effort to increase STEM opportunities to all Salt Lake City residents. In collaboration with the USU College of Engineering and its Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, USU Associate Professor Doug Hunsaker has given his time as the debut expert to present on a wide variety of on-site demonstrations and lectures in the field of aerospace tech.

While most Utahns are familiar with Leonardo da Vinci the artist, it is Leonardo da Vinci the scientist, engineer, architect, innovator, and pioneer which has inspired all museum programming for more than a decade. Engineer In Residence honors the inquisitive legacy of Leonardo da Vinci by teaming to provide free STEM events and lectures regarding one of Leonardo’s most elusive passions, flight.

With the continued support of the Rocky Mountain Power, some of the upcoming Engineer In Residence events include Wing & Design Optimization, Flight Simulation, Aerodynamics of Supersonic Flight, Aeroelasticity, and many more. Rocky Mountain Power Foundation actively supports many charitable causes in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming including several Arts, Civic, Environment, STEM, and Wellness initiatives in a continual effort to create sustainable and meaningful impact across the Intermountain West.
