I can’t tell you how many times people comment about the event facilities at The Leo. I mean, we do a lot of cool events. You might have heard of the Best of Utah party put on by City Weekly. Yup, they had that event here. Or when they announced Google Fiber was coming to Salt Lake. That’s right, they had the press conference here then threw a huge celebration throughout the whole museum. Talk about fun!
Now those are pretty big events. But what about smaller events like workshops, board meetings or family gatherings? We do that too. So in truth, we do just about everything. We have a boardroom to talk business, wonderful classrooms to get creative and other spaces for gatherings with family. That just shows you the versatility we have to offer.
Let’s talk about some of my favorite events we’ve hosted at The Leo. Definitely have to mention all the networking events put on by various companies. Such as Visit Salt Lake, SLC SEM, Downtown SLC and more! I love mingling with other folks while eating delicious bites from our Salt Bistro (BTW, we cater too). Most of these events take place in our third floor event center with high cabaret tables, a few round sitting tables and music in the background.
I love networking, but I also love dressing up and feeling pretty—like going to galas. Walking around with my long flowy dress and spotting dashing men all suited up (like Barney would say from the hit TV show How I Met Your Mother). Usually the whole museum staff is involved with galas – with a dining aspect on the third floor, an interactive aspect on the second floor and a networking aspect on the first floor. These events are so much fun and bring out the royalty in everyone.
Another event that I’m still thinking about is Savory Salt Lake. The company booked our third floor event center to have a dining competition—how cool! A number of restaurants create a signature dish for all to try, then everyone votes for their favorite. Needless to say, I was full towards the end.
