Does the Museum have a parking lot?

There is a city-owned parking garage under The Leonardo. We do not offer parking validation at this time. See our Directions and Parking page for complete information.

Yes. They’re located on the north and south side of the building.

How much is admission to the Museum?

Do I have to pay the full price for admission?

Yes. Admission fees give you access to our permanent exhibitions, hands-on Make Spaces, and special exhibition galleries, as well as most programs and tours. Traveling exhibitions and special programing may require an additional fee.

Is there a time when admission is reduced?

On occasion The Leonardo offers discounts for special programing and holidays. For updates please subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Can anyone bypass the Admissions line?

All visitors must stop at our Admissions Desk to receive an admission stamp for the day. Members, show your card or ID to the Admissions staff and receive an admission stamp before you enter.

When is the Museum Store open?

Can I come to the Museum just to visit the Store? If so, do I have to pay the admission fee?

Yes you can visit just the store. No admission fee is required. You’re welcome to walk directly into the Store, which is just inside the Salt Bistro entrance.

Is there a Coat Check?

Yes. It is located in the admissions area.

Are baby strollers permitted in the Museum?

Yes, and strollers are available for checkout with valid photo identification at our admissions desk.

Are all Leonardo exhibitions appropriate for children to view?

Some of our exhibitions are directed to adult audiences, however each exhibit has interactives great for all ages.

Is there a place to eat?

Yes, you can purchase a meal or snack at our Bistro. We can’t allow outside food in the dining areas or exhibit spaces, but you’re welcome to enjoy a bagged lunch on our outdoor patio.

Are there other restaurants in the area?

There are many restaurants and cafés nearby, some within walking distance.

Visiting as a Group

How do I arrange a visit for a school group or group of adults?

All school groups and all adult groups must make advance reservations for visits. Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and tend to fill up quickly. Please make your reservation as early as possible. For more information, please see the following pages:

How do I become a Member?

To become a Member, join online, stop by the Admissions Desk, or call 801.531.9800 during Museum hours.

What are the benefits of becoming a Member?

How do I make a donation to the Museum?

You may make a secure, fully tax-deductible donation online; by calling 801.531.9800 and using your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express card; or by mailing a check made payable to The Leonardo.

I am a current Member and/or donor. How can I change my name and/or address and continue to receive mail from the Museum?

By providing your new name and/or address to the Membership Department by phone 801.531.9800 ext. 134 or email

May I designate a secondary Membership card holder?

Yes, starting at the Dual level, Members receive a second card in the name of their choosing.

Can I give a Membership as a gift?

Absolutely! Memberships make great birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary, or holiday gifts for family, friends, and/or business associates. Gift Memberships are available for purchase online or at our Admissions Desk. If purchasing a gift membership online, select the level of gift and check the “this membership is a gift” box on the registration form.

How do I receive my Leonardo Museum Members discount?

Simply by presenting your Membership card or photo ID to any Museum associate in our Store or Bistro upon payment. Your discount will be deducted from the full retail price.

Photography in the Museum

Is photography or videography permitted in the Museum?

Photography and videography are allowed in the Museum so long as the images are taken using existing light only (no flash) and are for personal, non-commercial use. Photography and videography are often restricted in special exhibition galleries; ask for further details at our Admissions Desk when you arrive. Tripods and selfie-sticks are not permitted.

Is wedding photography permitted in the Museum?

We currently do not permit wedding photography in the Museum during public hours. You’re welcome to shoot outside on Library Square as long as your group does not impede other visitors or programming. Interior photography can be arranged in conjunction with a wedding booked on our premises.

Is commercial photography or filming permitted at the Museum?

Commercial photography or filming projects are permitted at the Museum if planned and approved in advance. Please contact the coordinator at or 801.531.9800 with your proposal.
