"Steampunk" is one of the hottest sci-fi genres right now. Science-Fiction gadgets and gizmos reimagined into times past. The Leonardo itself is a STEAM organization (science, technology, engineering, art, math), so this camp will put the STEAM in Steampunk—discussing the art of the fashion, the technology and engineering, and in the end you'll have what you need to create a steampunk story and/or comic!

Leonardo da Vinci's fascination with flight began when he was a young child and a hawk hovered over him. In this camp The Leonardo will partner with Hawkwatch to bring in three birds to discuss form, function, and biomimicry. You'll learn all about aviation and at the end of the week you will innovate a new aircraft and compete in a walk-along glider obstacle course.

Do you have a big idea? Have you always wanted to be an inventor? Well now's your time to shine! Discover your inner creative genius as The Leonardo teams up with Discovery Gateway. Explore both museums and work with innovative experts on a variety of projects and experiments covering STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Pyrex or petri dish? Chef or scientist? Here, you won’t have to decide! Get the best of both worlds by working with our food scientists—and science foodies—while exploring different concepts of molecular gastronomy (the science of cooking). You’ll even get to test the limits of culinary design by creating, plating, and serving your very own lab coat-worthy delights. You bring the enthusiasm, and we’ll provide the chef hat (and goggles)!

Hollywood is calling your name! Learn the craft, the art, and the science behind film. You’ll work with industry experts, gain insider knowledge on all the latest trends and techniques, master cutting edge technologies, and create your very own short to debut at a Leo Pink Carpet premiere! Blend your newfound skills in technology and storytelling to create an animated or live-action film, working in teams just like a real film production. End-of-camp awards given at a Pink Carpet Premier (family invited).
